Think Earth Curriculum Overview

The Think Earth Environmental Education Program was developed for the Think Earth Foundation by Educational Development Specialists. To date, more than 60,000 teachers have received Think Earth units to use in their classrooms.

The Think Earth curriculum is a comprehensive, award-winning program that contains 9 unitsone for each grade level from preschool through middle school. In all Think Earth units, students learn the importance of a clean, healthy environment—air, land, and water—and they learn what they can do to “Think Earth,” meaning:

Curriculum Availability

Currently, Think Earth units are being distributed only to schools participating in the Think Earth, It’s Magic assembly program. With a captivating magic show, elementary students are introduced to environmental themes, which are then further expanded with the Think Earth curriculum.

The Think Earth, It’s Magic assembly programs are being coordinated by California State University's Environmental Education Department and being conducted in Southern California throughout the service areas of Central Basin Municipal Water District and the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.

Online Curriculum

The Think Earth Foundation is in the process of revising the Think Earth units and putting them online so that they are available to all teachers. Please check back for the 2008-2009 school year.
