Overview

Think Watershed is a collaborative partnership of environmental stakeholders in Southern California interested in creating and implementing a watershed education project.

Vision: To restore and improve the watershed by creating awareness, instilling responsibility, and promoting stewardship.

Mission: To educate students about the watershed’s impact on the marine and aquatic environment and to inspire them to become stewards of the environment.

Goals of the Think Watershed partnership are to:

1. work collaboratively
2. use available resources
3. present a complete watershed education package
4. create positive actions/behaviors/attitudes toward watershed
5. develop stakeholder involvement in watershed education

Project activities are focused on:

• funding field trips for upper elementary students in Los Angeles County on board a Floating Laboratory in Long Beach Harbor
• providing pre- and post-trip curriculum to maximize students’ Floating Lab experience
• establishing a website where students can post and compare results of data collected from on-board experiments
